Collaboration with bees

Since the rain hasn't stopped, here's another interesting art 'collaboration' with ecology and structure building insects. This one reminds me of those planes, tanks and boats they sink to create artificial coral reefs. Artist Aganetha Dyck has been busy introducing artificial objects - dolls, shoes, clothing - to a colony of honey bees. The bees' response is to incorporate the objects into their hive-building activities. The artifacts left as a result are quite interesting. Somehow the idea of human objects subverted by non-human intelligence is both joyous and disturbing.
